Jazz concert by Vittorio Mezza and Diego Caravano"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the occasion of the 2500th anniversary of the foundation of the city of Naples, the Italian Embassy in Asmara organised a concert entitled \u201cNapoli-Asmara solo andata (Naples in jazz)\u201d by Mr. Diego Caravano, founder of the group \u201cNeri per caso\u201d which won the most important italian singing competition (Sanremo Festival) in 1995, and Mr. Vittorio Mezza, renowned jazz musician and professor at the Frosinone State Conservatory of Music. The two artists performed on the stage of the Asmara Theatre, built in 1919 to a design by Odoardo Cavagnari.<\/p>\n<p>During the performance, which was highly acclaimed by the audience, the two artists performed Pino Daniele&#8217;s greatest hits and the most famous songs of the Neapolitan tradition, such as \u201cEra de maggio\u201d, \u201cTu vu\u00f2 f\u00e0 l&#8217;americano\u201d and \u201cPassione\u201d, in the presence of the Commissioner for Culture and Sport, Ambassador Zemede Tekle, as well as other Eritrean government officials.
