The Emergency Travel Document (ETD) is a provisional travel document valid for 5 days including the date of issue. It can be issued if the person does not have any valid identification document for travelling (passport or identity card). The Emergency Travel Document is only used for return to Italy or to an EU Member State where the applicant has permanent residence proven by AIRE registration.
